Halifax Dalhousie University and Peggy's Cove

After a wonderful breakfast with our hosts we all went downtown Halifax to get a close up view of Dalhousie University.

It's a beautiful setting right in the middle of a residential section of Halifax.

La Marchand Student residence and International student center.

The Risley student residence across the street form La Marchand.
Just to show them across the street from each other

Marley shopping at the book store in the Student Union building.

We happen to visit on the same day as the Graduation ceremony at DAL.

Marley hangin' with some international grad students at Dalhousie.

Not far from Dalhousie is St. Mary's University. This is where our host, Lou, taught business for 8 years.

A view of the street. Spring is just getting under way here.

After we were finished with looking around Halifax we drove out to Peggy's Cove which is about an hour out of Halifax.

One of the first things to greet you in Peggy's cove is this piece of art carved out of the natural rock.

World famous Peggy's cove.

Caught!

And how would you haul lobster traps?

Colours of the Maritimes. So amazing.

Huge pile of lobster traps on the dock.

The famous light house of Peggy's Cove.

The rock formations at the point and just below the lighthouse.

Enjoying the warmth on the rocks.

Enjoying a snack together.

This is the Swissair 111 memorial located just down the road from Peggy's cove. On the 2nd of September 1998 the flight crashed 8 km(5 mi) from this site. There were no survivors.

The memorial architecture was chosen by the local people as well as the relatives of the passengers on the flight. The design fits into the surrounding terrain.

The memorial is set up on a hillside overlooking the sea and faces towards the crash site.

This seemed to be as good a spot as any to have our picnic lunch. The memorial is just off to the left of the picture.

The area is very interesting with these glacier-placed rocks all over the surrounding area.

Back in Halifax we cross the bridge to return to Dartmouth.

Such a beautiful day and we were able to take advantage of the sun and warmer temperatures. Dinner on the deck.

Our hosts back yard complete with fire pit and sitting area.

The house from the back yard.

Nice sitting area. Spring has been in full swing here now for a couple of weeks.

The robin's have built a nest between each of the joists. A robin condo.

Our hosts grandchildren hanging out with Marley.

Dinner on the deck with our host and their Halifax family.
