Road Trip Day one Torbay to Deer Lake.

Left Torbay to cross the island to Deer Lake at 9am today. We of course took Marley along:

Meet Marley. He is one of Mattea's good friends and she is sending him along on this trip and hopes to see him in a number of pictures along the way.

We are on our way. Lucy, Marley and I. We left Torbay at 9am for a "6" hour drive across the island of Newfoundland.

Marley enjoying the ride

Made it to Gander.

A piece of the World Trade Centre given to the Airport and the peoples of Gander in gratitude for their hospitality and and the airports help on 9/11, 2001.

Also a gift given to the airport and people of Gander for their part in helping so many planes or people on Sept. 11, 2001
Halls Bay full of Pan Ice.

Across the road from the ocean is this quiet freshwater lake almost at sea level.
Huge chunks of ice fill the bay when the wind and tide are in cooperation

Arrived in Deer Lake at 5pm and checked in to the Inn. (there was room)

Marley had a long day on the road...
